Time to talk day 3rd Feb 2022

It is a well-known fact that one in four people have a mental health problem, but it is a lesser-known fact that only one in six people report their mental health issues every week. That means that around 36% of common mental health illnesses in the UK go undiagnosed. Even today there is still a heavy stigma surrounding talking about mental health problems

February the 3rd is National Time to talk day. Talking about a mental health issue is the first step in being able to get the help you need. Suffering alone can lead to worse consequences but as the old saying goes ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’.

If you find that you are experiencing a mental health problem, no matter how large or small then take the time to talk to someone about it. It doesn’t matter whether it is a doctor, friend, colleague, family member or a mental health organisation, that first step could make all the difference by breaking down barriers, reducing stigma and helping you onto the road to recovery.

Further to our 2 sessions/90 mins to-date. I just wanted to thank you for your professional yet empathetic approach. The meetings have already clearly identified my failings and have left me inspired, motivated and on track with realistic targets towards a fitter future. Looking forward to our next session
